Gratitude and Tryptophan

The Write on Edge team is celebrating Thanksgiving today and wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving as well! Non-American community members? We’re still willing to share our pie. And our gratitude lists of course …

I am thankful for all the people I love in my life, especially my kids for giving the best hugs in the world and Ryan for putting up with all my dream chasing. I am thankful for my writing community: friends and mentors who challenge me, listen to me and believe in me. And my list couldn’t be complete without the mention of inexpensive lip gloss and countless tubes of mascara that jump into my cart at Target and always make me smile.

I am thankful for the support and encouragement of my writing community in this year of wonderful things happening!

I am thankful for the healthy, beautiful kids who simultaneously drive me crazy and fill me past bursting with love. I’m thankful for my husband who works hard but always has time for his family. I’m thankful for my friends who have gone along with me on my journey of writing my first manuscript, who have listened and read and quieted the voices in my head telling me “I can’t.” I’m thankful for long runs, puppy breath, little boy giggles, soccer goals, a perfect dolphin kick, mallowcreme pumpkins, warm sunshine and a perfect pair of jeans.

I’m thankful for my little loves who push me to new heights while trying my sanity – a dizzying combo guaranteed to make me smile. I’m thankful for my friends and family who love and support me through the most trying of times. I’m thankful for my ice cream machine and the banana chocolate chip recipe currently preventing me from being thankful for my waist line. I’m thankful for my community of writers and readers who encourage me to follow my dreams.

What’s on your gratitude list this year?

I’m happy and grateful for many, many things, not the least of which is that I’m a part of this dynamic, incredibly gifted writing community. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!
