Write on Edge is an evolving community. We’re always trying to find ways to help you all achieve your writing goals and to enrich your writing experience.
On Thursday, we announced that our first anthology, Precipice, will be released on October 30th.
This collection represents our commitment not only to help you improve your craft, but to offer you unique opportunities to showcase your work. Our goal is to curate a collection of writing that reflects the best our community has to offer. For 2012, we focused on short essays and fiction—under 1500 words—with an open theme.
The first volume of Precipice will showcase twelve essays and nine works of short fiction by seventeen authors. Our congratulations to:

Precipice will be available in print through Amazon for $9.99, for Kindle, Nook, and all other ereaders for $3.99. The initial release will be via Amazon (Kindle) and Smashwords (all digital formats), with rolling releases to Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and other ebook retailers throughout November.
We are already brainstorming theme and word-count ideas for the 2013 edition, which will be open for submissions in April of next year. Thanks to all the talented writers who submitted, and thanks to this wonderful, supportive community for making our first foray into publishing such a pleasure. We are looking forward to not only this first volume, but many, many more to come!

Word count? Did someone say word count??
I humbly request that the word count for short fiction be raised to 3,000 – enough for a more developed short story!
