It’s Friday, and time to link up!
For this week, we asked you to write a fiction or creative non-fiction piece in which an epitaph features prominently–in 500 words or less.
In the spirit of community, strive to read as many pieces as possible, and provide thoughtful critique. Perhaps you could note a line, word choice, or moment that especially inspired you?
Remember, it’s the feedback that builds our community.
Looking forward to reading—and please, only link up if you have done the prompt.
To kick things off:
Cam wrote about the man behind the grave marker in The Stone Mason
Nancy wrote about love and forties in An Epitaph

[...] in today in the first Write On Edge writing prompt for 2012! [...]
Somehow I’m missing the prompts and only seeing the link-ups! I need to pay closer attention, I guess!
RemembeRED posts every Friday evening, with link-up on Tuesday. Red Writing Hood posts every Tuesday evening, with link-up on Friday. So, Tuesday and Friday are the magic days.
Wow! I got far more comments on my story for this prompt than I have ever received on any post before! I just posted chapter two at midnight. It already has 5 views and it’s been less than two hours… in the middle of the night! I’m glad people liked the beginning of my Marie Antionette story. I hope they like the rest of it too!
That’s wonderful! And I’m so glad you’ve found inspiration AND and audience!
