Red Writing Hood — Fear

This week, we invited you to compose a text–160 characters–that would either elicit or express fear.

It’s not a conventional text, but Cam’s The Claw Foot Tub is creepy in 160 characters.

And now we’ve turned on all of the lights and we think we’re ready for you.

Please link up only if you have followed the prompt.

Also, in the spirit of community, please do your best to visit as many other members as possible.

The nice thing about a 160-character limit is that it makes it possible to read every entry. I almost never have time to do that!

I loved this prompt. Fear, and what elicits it, is extremely personal, and the most basic of our human existence. Regardless of what we write, we cannot help but draw on our own experiences in order to summon the emotion. Fantastic job everyone!

    My submission:

I froze as he knelt before me. He offered me a diamond ring and whispered the two words I wasn’t ready to hear. “Marry me?”

So I read the claw foot tub part (which is freaking awesome per usual, @MoveOverMaryP, and I totally missed the part where this was supposed to be in text form. Le sigh…
