Let’s lighten it up around here. And when I say lighten, I mean REALLY lighten.
This week’s assignment will require the fewest number of words ever: we want you to write a story – your choice of topic – as a tweet.
That’s right. One hundred and forty characters. Not words. Characters.
Make us laugh. Make us think. Make us want more.
Mostly, have FUN with this. You’ve earned it.

Love this!
Such a sexy idea! seriously.
Ooh, fun!!
Now there is a challenge!
This will be my very first week linking up here and I am SO excited for a prompt like this. Genius
Quick question – Is the prompt to write the story in tweet form? Or only in the Twitter maximum number of characters of 140?
Hey Kelly – it’s ONE tweet.140 characters to tell the story. Not a story told in twitter form. Which we could save for a future prompt.
Sorry, I will rephrase.
Does the 140 characters have to be written in “twitter style”?
Or could it be written.
Like this.
With paragraphs.
Perfect prompt given the time I have to write this week, by the way…
I would say it has to be in twitter style because spaces are included in characters. Can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with!
Ok, now this? I can do.
Look out people.
This is my first week linking up. How exactly do I do it?
You post on your own blog, then there will be a frog icon here tomorrow. Click on it and it’ll take you through the steps. It’s super-easy. You just need the URL to your post – not to your main blog, just to the post you’re linking. Glad you’re joining us!
Great! Thanks!
Ok, I had fun with it.
Thank you, Red Dress girls (What do we call you now – The Write Edge girls? And what is the tweeting hashtag?) In any case, I’m all “a-twitter” about this fun one!
Work was crazy this week and I missed the prompt. What a fun one! I’ll enjoy reading a bunch of these!
There’s still time to link up if you want to. It’s only 140 characters!
[...] August I wrote & Tweeted then posted a 140-character story called Melting for a Write on Edge (formerly Red Writing Hood) prompt. The response to the piece was so encouraging, I decided today to double that character [...]
